The thermal waters of Chaves feature several characteristics and properties that make them unique.
Their temperature at the spring is 73ºC (163ºF), making them the hottest mineral waters of the Iberian Peninsula and the hottest sodium-bicarbonated waters of Europe.
Interestingly, this temperature of the waters is not a result of their volcanic origin, but of the successive magmatic layers they cross before reaching the surface.
