Museu de Ervamoira
Quinta da Ervamoira («Banewort Estate»), belonging to the Ramos Pinto House, is situated at the heart of the Côa Valley Archaeological Park, on the left bank of the river, in an area classified as a World Heritage site by the UNESCO.

Besides the huge vineyards, stretching beyond the parishes of Chãs and Muxagata and occupying a flat platform, the estate´s facilities are integrated in the landscape and it includes an old schist house, trimmed with granite, which reflects the most traditional architecture of the region and has been restored and adapted to lodge a museum, inaugurated on the 1st November 1977.

The museum occupies the ground floor, and the first storey is reserved for parties, wine tasting and other initiatives.

The entrance to the museum is on the southern façade, near the solid granite pillar which supported the house´s main beam before it was restored and adapted, and which was raised again in memory of José Ramos Pinto Rosas, founder of the Quinta de Ervamoira.

Inside, there are rooms dedicated to the natural patrimony of the Douro region, to Roman, Visigothic and Medieval remains found in the region, to the history of the Ramos Pinto House and to the evolution of the Port wine bottles.

Naturally, the visit ends with the tasting of wines at the bar and esplanade, where it is also possible to enjoy a meal while admiring the scenery of the Côa region vineyard terraces.
