Beaches
From Portimão to Alvor, stretching along the coastline, there are pleasant coves to satisfy all tastes and with an unique and different kind of beauty.
Praia do Vau, next to the Praia da Rocha (Rock Beach), is a small and familar beach, surrounded by clay cliffs to which medicinal qualities are attributed.
João de Arens is a small stretch of sand lying between cliffs; the beach is peaceful and never crowded, surrounded by reefs.
Três Irmãos (Three Brothers) and Prainha (Little Beach), close to Alvor, are the following beaches along the coastline, separated by tunnels escavated by the sea.
Alvor is a vast stretch of sand between cliffs, almost lost in the horizon until the river estuaryappears.
Hotel units and tourist equipments turn this beach into an important international tourist center.
On the other side of the bar, you can always get a glimpse of Meia Praia ("Half Beach"), which belongs to
Lagos.
From here, the limits are only the blue sea and the skies...
