Igreja Matriz
The Mother Church of Loures, or Church of Saint Mary, is located in a very quiet neighbourhood, close to the city's oldest area.

Inside, there are three naves, and on the ceiling of the central nave visitors can admire a 17th-century painting.

The church was rebuilt after the big 1755 earthquake, but was later abandoned.

In the middle of the 19th century, it was restored and now holds religious services.
