Museu República e Resistência documents the establishment of the Republic in 1910, the crisis that led to the dictatorship of «Estado Novo» (New State), in 1926, the 48 years of this oppressive regime and the resistance up to 1974.

The museum has a library specialized in these matters, open from monday to friday, from 10 am to 5 pm.
