Caldas da Saúde
The first references to the mineral waters of Caldas da Saúde date back to the 10th century.

However, the first thermal centre worth the name was only built in 1891 and improved in 1905.

In 1915, the spa complex was refurbished and a thermal hotel was built.

The construction works revealed Roman objects, proving that the thermal waters were already known and used at that time.

In 1987, the degradation of the spa station was complete, forcing its closing.

It was totally rebuilt and reopened in 1994.

Therapeutical indications: respiratory, rhumatic and muscle and bones illnesses.
