Fortress

Fortress
Situated on a hilltop, its first walls and ramparts were built around 1200.

However, what can now be seen is a double-walled fortress in the Vauban style, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries.

It is formed by two polygonal forts, the Praça or Magisterial Enclosure and the Crown, separated by a moat.

It has ten bulwarks and two half bulwarks.

The two forts are linked by a causeway with bridge.
