Fountain at the Giraldo Square
Built in 1571, this emblematic work in white marble, classified as a national monument since 1910, was created by Afonso Álvares.
A popular tradition states that the eight bronze heads, as well as the surmounting crown, represent the eight streets that lead to the square.
