Garcia de Resende Tumular Chapel
The tumular chapel of Garcia de Resende, built by the chronicler and poet´s order, stands within the enclosure of the Our Lady of the Thorn-bush Convent, near Évora.

It is a small chapel, preceded by a porch where the grave of Jorge de Resende, Garcia de Resende´s brother, lies.

The nave has a ribbed vault and the walls exhibit 16th-century panels of tiles.

The pavement is lined with Hispanic tiles from the beginning of the 16th century.

When the religious orders in Portugal were banned in the 19th century, the tomb of Garcia de Resende was taken from this chapel, and it was only brought back in the 20th century.

The small temple was recently restored.
