Braga

Closely linked to the history of Portugal, it centralizes the natural and etnographic attractions of the province of Minho, so rich in traditions and famous folklore displays.

Monuments of international reputation, such as the sanctuaries of Bom Jesus do Monte and of Sameiro, together with the churches of Falperra and São Frutuoso, make it a priviledged tourism zone.

The Cathedral, restored in 1070, housing the tombs of eminent personages of the History of Portugal, is still venerated and loved by the Portuguese and respected and admired by foreigners.

Braga is also famous for its lively, colourful and stirring religious festivals, which portray all the characteristics of the green and beautiful Minho, rich in traditions and natural and etnographical treasures.

The festival of St.

John, with its dazzling fireworks, pride of the local and expert pyrotechnists, and its lively and colourful dancing and singing full of joy and art, is one of the main attractions for tourists.

Theatres, cinemas and amusement parks.

Hotels, boarding-houses, restaurants and tea-houses.
