Situated on a boulder known as the Penedo da Saudade, it was built in the 18th century for the Carmelite nuns.

The church has a single nave and a dome.

The altars are worth admiring, namely the main altar.

The choir´s walls are lined with 17th-century tiles from the Coimbra factory.
