A grand staircase and a portal from the 18th century lead into the building, dating from the 16th century.

It is worth admiring the carved stone which frames the doors as well as the collections of tiles from the Coimbra factories.

The building later came to lodge the University´s Hospital, knowing the same fate as the Royal College of Arts.
