Monks Convent
Although almost completely in ruins (it is advisable to keep outside), this ancient monastery, also known as the Convent of Our Lady of the Castle of Covas de Monfurado, deserves to be known.

Linked to the memory of a group of hermits which lived at the subterranean dens of the Monfurado mountain in penance of abstinence and prayers, the convent had a short history: the earthquake of 1755 almost destroyed the building still in construction, so the first mass was only celebrated in 1783; half a century later, in 1834, the decree extinguishing the religious orders condemned it to being abandonned and forgotten.

However, the church remained active until the beginning of the 20th century.
