Old Cathedral
Old Cathedral
Although it was restored for several times, it is a magnificent example of the Romanesque style in Portugal.
Built like a fortress, it is formed by three naves with five spans; the central nave exhibits a semi-circular vault and the side naves have edged vaults.
The Gothic cloister was much restored in the 18th century.
The main façade has a portal formed by recessed arches over pillars with ornamented chapiters.
The window over the portal displays a similar structure.
Of the two doors on both sides, the most famous one is the 15th-century Specious Door.
