Medeiros e Almeida Foundation
An extraordinary collection of decorative arts, installed in the private residence of António Medeiros e Almeida (1895-1986).

The asset is distributed by 25 rooms, including works of fine arts (painting and sculpture), furniture, tapestry, jewelry, glass, etc., from the 17th to the 20th century.

Three separate collections are housed in their own rooms and stand out by their completeness or by the rarity and value of the works.

In the watch and clock room, there are 225 pieces dating from the 16th century onwards, some of them unique and full of history, other rarities of great value.

In the China porcelain room, with pieces dating from the Han (over 2000 years) to the Qing (18th century) dynasties, visitors can see some of the first brought by the Portuguese sailors in the 16th century.

The silver room includes two table wares made by the famous English silversmith Paul Storr (1792-1838) and several Portuguese pieces made in the 16th to 18th centuries.
