National Costumes and Fashion Museum
The evolution of costumes over the ages, printing and weaving techniques, temporary exhibitions.

Initially, the collection, taken from the National Coach Museum, was formed by 7000 pieces of garments and accessories, belonging, most of them, to the Royal House.

Presently, the Museu Nacional do Traje e da Moda has a collection of more than 35,000 pieces, chiefly formed by masculine and feminine costumes of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The library, dedicated to the history of clothing, garments, wooven fabrics, tapestries and textile techniques, as well as to the history of art and museology, is open from monday to friday, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
