Abbot of Baçal Museum
Founded in 1915, the Museu do Abade de Baçal is lodged in the building of the former Bragança Bishop's Palace.

The museum includes, from the beginning, the collections of archaeology and coins of the Municipal Museum and some of the contents of the Bishops Palace.

To these were added donations from friends and artists, among which the collections of Abel Salazar, in the decade of the thirties, and of the Sá Vargas family, in the fifties, the Guerra Junqueiro legacy, in the beginning of the sixties, and the Trindade Coelho legacy: all enriched the museum with collections of paintings, drawings, jewellry and furniture.
