Our Lady of Aracelis Chapel
The name means "Heavenly Altar".
Ermida de Nossa Senhora de Aracelis was once a place of pilgrimage, and the gleam of its perfectly whitewashed walls enhance the façades set in a dazzling natural scenery.
It is said to have some "sister" chapels: the Ermida da Saúde, at Martim Longo; the Castle`s chapel, at Aljustrel; Ermida da Cola, at Ourique; Ermida dos Remédios, at Alcaria; and the Chapel of Piedade, at Loulé.
