Évora Museum
It is installed at the former Archbishops Palace, a 16th-century building which was later remodeled.
The church of Mercęs, situated at the Rua do Raimundo, a building from the 17th century which once belonged to the old convent of the Augustine friars, is now an independant nucleus, with a permanent display of religious art and vestments.
The museum exhibits essentially the collection of the archbishop Dom Frei Manuel do Cenáculo (paintings, archaeological objects and coins) and the patrimony coming from churches and extinguished convents of Évora and from the region´s archaeological sites.
It also icludes the epigraphic collection of André de Resende and some recent donations, among which the legacies of Barahona and Margiochi.
Occcasionally, classical music concerts take place here.
