Outras Igrejas
The county of Alvito is one of the smallest of the country, but it is rich in churches and chapels which bear testimony to its religious tradition.

At the Miserichord Church in Nossa Senhora das Candeias, from the 16th century, there is now a Religious Art Museum.

Besides interesting items, it displays beautiful painted tiles.

The Chapel of St Sebastian, of Mudejar architecture, has a Gothic vault and frescoes representing angels.

The Chapel of Santa Luzia, built where an ancient Arab construction used to stand, is from the 16th century and exhibits 17th-century frescoes.

The Church of St Anthony dates from the 17th century.

It is a vast construction, with a single nave displaying 18th-century painted tiles.
