Here´s the text of an ad printed by the Espinho´s Municipal Commission of Tourism in 1967:

Espinho, one of the most important coastline beaches of Portugal, is a trusting resort for those who wish to enjoy to the fullest extent the pleasures of a restful vacation.



Dotted with a mild climate, large sandy beach, pleasant gardens, symetrical roads, seaside esplanade, traditional drift-fishery works, "Solário Atlântico" bathing installations (including a beautiful swimming-pool, bar and ball-room), cinema-theatre, casino (with gaming-room and cinema-theatre), golf-links, roller-skating, camping grounds, reliable hotel organizations, excellent road and railway connections to Oporto, Lisbon and Viseu (Northern Line and Vale do Vouga railway branch) and other main towns, the whole area is a charming and fascinating spot for holiday makers.



Espinho, however, with its all-year-round summer festivities, great industry and first touristic centre, is above all an attractive and wonderful poster for all foreigners and nationals alike.
