Holy Spirit Chapel
Refered to as one of the most beautiful chapels in town, Capela do Espírito Santo is part of the monumental Sintra National Palace (Palácio Nacional de Sintra).

It has a central nave and, in the ceiling, geometrical drawings carved in wood, of arab influence.

In the floor, there are mosaics from the 15th century, and, in the walls, a series of white pidgeons represent the Holy Spirit.

This was the chapel used for centuries by the Court, when lodged in the summer royal residence.

The chapel is accessible only from inside the palace.
