Caldas de Monchique
Separated from the actual town by no more than one kilometer, Caldas (spa) is one of its main attractions.

The quality of its waters, considered to have medical effects, has an old reputation; the spa (still believed, nowadays, as able to cure a number of ilnesses) exists since roman times, and this people, that gave the biggest importance to water resources, built here a substancial bath complex.

A little square shadowed by high trees is the centre of this small place, whose main charm is the park located in the next hill; countless trees, large shadows, whispering creeks, the sunshine finding its way across the dense green tree leaves and the quiel atmosphere make this an inviting place for a family picnic in one of the tables available.
