At Rua de Santo António, the modest church of St.

Sebastian exhibits an expressive image of Our Lady of Desterro, that once belonged to an old Franciscan convent.

This image, as well as the columns inside the church, date from the 17th century.

The Miserichord Church, situated at Rua do Viadôr, exhibits two paintings from the 18th century, an altar and pulpit in gilded wood-work and an image of St.

Francis dating from the 17th century.

To visit the Chapel of Senhor dos Passos you must walk along Rua de São Sebastião; of simple architecture, it displays inside an image of Christ in natural size.

The site where once stood the Convent of Nossa Senhora do Desterro, now in ruins, still guards a fresh charm, surrounded by thick trees and offering views of the mountain´s slopes.
