Praia Grande
One of the most popular of the Sintra zone, the Praia Grande (Big Beach) offers a long stretch of sand, allowing the agitated waters of the ocean to grow more calm here.

The beach is often chosen by younger people, specially by those who appreciate water sports, such as bodyboard and surf.

Once a year, you can even watch a contest of the Surf/Bodyboard World Championship.

The beach also attracts people wishing to see in loco the dinossaur footstep fossiles that are indented on the enormous cliffs that surround the zone.
