About 12 km from Silves, Algoz is a village surrounded by orange groves, fig and almond trees, characterized for its whitewashed houses, with ample terraces and the typical laced chimneys.

Its Mother Church, of the 18th century, has interesting tile panels and a pretty golden retable.

Other places to visit include the Granary of Monte da Piedade, with a 16th century portal and 18th century tiles, and Ermida de Nossa Senhora do Pilar (Chapel of Our Lady of Pilar) with altar and paintings from the 18th century.
